STANDARDS

Recycling

We have a cardboard recycling programme that ensures all excess packaging is compacted and sent for recycling.

Water Use

Although we have a strong source of water from the dolomitic aquifer above which we are situated, we manage this scarce resource carefully via a computer controlled drip-line fertigation system.

We also collect rainwater from the expansive roof area that our greenhouses cover.

Pack House

The insulated pack house has a daily capacity of 200k stems and is operated at 4°C with adjacent cold storage at 2°C.

Additionally, there is a blast-cooling area that rapidly reduces produce temperatures to 0.5°C.

Fertigation

The farm has two computer-controlled fertigation systems that automatically deliver nutrients (fertiliser) to all plants via the irrigation infrastructure.

Climate Control

Climate control is managed by our Priva Automation System which controls the pad-and-fan system for temperature and humidity management, blackout screens for light management, and the heated water system in cold months.
